A fall of successful fundraisers
NOTE from Poplar Park Playground Chairperson Noela Shields: Today I was hand delivered an envelope from Alberta Blue Cross and I am beyond excited to let you know that we have received $50,000 from their Healthy Communities Grant program to help fund our playground!!!!!
And add to this we raised more than $2,000 from our XBOX 1 raffle and Epicure fundraiser. This brings our total to $5,600 in the last few months from fundraisers. AWESOME WORK EVERYONE!
You could win an XBOX ONE, get your tickets at any Florence Hallock winter concert or from any member of the Poplar Park Playground Committee. Tickets are $5 and proceeds go towards the new Poplar Park Playground!

Evansdale Community League and the community leagues of Area 17 are proud supporters of the Stan Gantar Memorial Hockey Tournament. Registrations for the 21st Stan Gantar Memorial Tournament are now being accepted. The Tournament is played outdoors at Kilkenny Community League from January 23, 2014 thru February 2, 2014 with some thirty-two teams participating in sixty-four games. Potential tiers range from Initiation thru Bantam and include the Atom and Pee Wee Girls.

We are just in the process of finding teams to create competitive tiers for the tournament. Each tier consists of four teams that play three round robin games and then a final. The tournament runs over the course of eleven days including weeknights.
Registrations will be based upon on a first submission basis provided we can find four teams to tier together.

Bottle Drive Raises $1981.70!
Wow, the Poplar Park Playground Bottle Drive raised almost $2,000 for the playground project!
Remember the bottle drive on Saturday in support of the Poplar Park Playground? Well the results are in:We raised…. $1981.70
Great job everyone!!! I think we did very well : ) Thanks to all who gave up their Saturday afternoon to volunteer to collect bottles and a thank you to all those who contributed!! I feel the momentum and I hope we can continue to strive for success and may the Poplar Park Playground come to fruition. (Jennifer)

We have draft budgets for the different phases of the project!
Get involved! We are busy renovating our rink shack, building a new all-season sports facility that will host meetings, serve as the rink shack and store sports equipment. Next year we will replace the hockey rink and add ball hockey courts and basketball courts. A great time to get involved.
